About Us

BluWave is the Business Builders’ Network for private equity grade service provider needs. The BluWave network includes an invitation-only ecosystem of best-in-class specialized consultancies, senior advisors and board members, independent consultants and interim executives. Our platform combines AI, technology and data with concierge-like consultative support to expertly connect businesses with proven providers across due diligence, value creation, and prep for sale. 

Our Story

Our Founder and CEO Sean Mooney spent nearly 20 years in private equity experiencing daily needs for top third parties to support due diligence and value creation opportunities. He created BluWave to solve his problem.

September 2016 Founder and CEO Sean Mooney spins out of his partner role at a PE firm in New York to start BluWave. After an extensive market study, he selects Nashville as the HQ and moves there with his family to start a lifelong entrepreneurial dream.
2017 BluWave builds out its proprietary data sets and refines its processes. Rapid growth begins.
June 2018 We support our 100th PE firm client.
December 2018 We’re bursting at the seams and move into our third office in two years.
April 2019 We support our 250th PE firm client.
December 2020

Our fast growth takes us to our fourth Nashville area office.

February 2021

We support our 500th PE-firm client, and continue to see explosive growth.

August 2021

BluWave is named in the top 3% of the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in the country.

March 2022

BluWave recognizes PE firms with the inaugural Top PE Innovator Awards.

August 2022 We launch the Karma School of Business Podcast.
August 2022

We launch the first generation of our artificial intelligence tool.

September 2022

We move into our fifth and largest office yet as headcount continues to rapidly grow.

How We support our community

We give back to our local community. Our team invests in Nashville and the surrounding area by volunteering together on a regular basis.

We take quarterly trips to a local farm, which works with a food bank to provide for the Nashville area.

Every time one of our team members has a birthday, we donate on their behalf to the charity of their choice.

We also started in 2023 the BluWave Impact program, where we partner with exceptional third-party resources from the BluWave ecosystem to bring the power of the private equity industry to charities in need.
